This cozy spot is what you've been looking for with comfortable furnishings, fresh decor, upgraded bedding and a private walkway to the beach. With updated kitchen appliances you can serve up your favorite meals for the family. Carolina Charm sits on a gorgeous stretch of beach prime for peaceful strolls, fishing, surfing and fun! Take in the views from the oceanfront sun deck and head to the beach any time of day!!

Oceanfront Bedroom: King Bed; en suite bathroom with shower

Location:

Your vacation rental is located in Surf City, approximately 1.4 miles north of the Surf City high rise bridge. You'll love the peace and quiet here! Visit the Surf City pier or drive to Sneads Ferry (just off the island) to visit restaurants and shops. Be sure to visit some local attractions such as the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital and the Missiles and More Museum, which tells the story of our islands past.

$150 Non-Refundable Fee per Dog - max number allowed is 2. Sorry, cats are not allowed.
Smoke Free - No smoking allowed by anyone on the premises.
Please do not park under the house! It's very sandy and you will get stuck. There is plenty of parking in the gravel driveway.

See below for a helpful list of what to bring with you to your Topsail Island vacation rental. Please note that Topsail Island vacation rentals do not come with sheets or towels. You may bring your own or rent them through Ward Realty.

Magical mermaid stay

My daughter, myself and our senior pup couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot. The home is steps to the ocean. The outdoor shower makes it perfect to help keep sand outta the house. Fully stocked with everything you could ever need in the kitchen. The master bedroom had me sleeping like a baby every night listening to the waves crashing. The living room also has the most amazing view. Lots of seating outside then wrap around deck. The host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I have shared this property to all my friends and family and honestly don’t want to leave. We would live here if we could! I give A Pirate and his Mermaid a 10/10 and highly recommend for a family vacation.

Loved the house and our stay! We have already reserved for next year! The house is perfect for our needs and we loved its location. The only comment for the homeowner would be that there are so many knick-knacks, we had to move some around to have space to put our stuff down. Otherwise, very cute house!

Absolutely love this house!

This place is perfect for my husband and me, and our 2 dogs (and a few addl family)! It's a cute little cozy cottage right on the beach with a short walkway, so you don't even need to set up on the beach really--just hang out on the deck and still close to all the ocean/beach action! There is a deck umbrella available to set up for shade (much easier than having no wind and a Shibumi on the sand!). The master bedroom bed is very comfy and the living room has plenty of seating for humans and people. The house overall is "gently" used so perfect for dogs and very clean! Nice appliances and fridge with icemaker! Also not a ton of stairs which is nice for unpacking/packing the car). We definitely want to come back and we haven'teven left yet!

We loved everything about our stay, and look forward to returning again in the near future. A Pirate & His Mermaid is the perfect blend of nostalgic beach cottage and modern amenities. The views were outstanding. It was an incredible week for us, and our everyday stresses just melted away. We wish our schedule allowed us to stay longer.

We liked A Pirate and His Mermaid quite well. It is attractively and tastefully decorated, and the furnishings were great. I especially liked the plank-style waterproof vinyl flooring throughout the house (except for a different flooring in the baths). In my opinion this flooring is very attractive, and an ideal choice of material for a beach house (especially a pet-friendly one).
