Are you planning your Topsail Island beach vacation?
With so many fun things to do and see here on Topsail Island, you're sure to have an amazing stay. While planning your vacation, don't forget to take a moment to protect your trip with a travel insurance Policy.
Here is everything you need to know about the benefits of purchasing a travel insurance policy before your next Topsail Island vacation.
What is Travel Insurance?
Travel insurance offers travelers the peace of mind that their vacation investment is protected from unexpected delays, cancellations, and natural disasters.
You may be thinking, "I've heard of Hurricane Insurance before..." but travel insurance is so much more than that. For a fraction of the cost of your reservation, this policy will protect your vacation investment, starting from the moment you book your Topsail Island vacation rental. With our insurance partner you can also get great coverage and claims service for events which occur even after your vacation has ended.
What, exactly, might be covered?
If you opt-in on our travel insurance policy, you'll get many great services. Here are some of the highlights:
Sickness, Injury, and Death
If you become sick or injured, or a non-traveling immediate family member passes away and you are unable to make the trip (or must return home earlier than expected), you may be covered under this policy. This sort of situation would be stressful enough. Worrying about the financial loss of a vacation investment shouldn't be on your mind (note: pre-existing conditions exclusions may apply).
Natural Disasters, Adverse Weather, and Mandatory Evacuations
Occasionally, Mother Nature has exciting plans that happen right before (or during) your vacation! Maybe the property you booked doesn't have gas or electricity due to adverse weather (such as a hurricane or tropical storm). Maybe you have been ordered to evacuate due to an impending hurricane. Don't fret – we'll see you back here soon, since your insurance policy has you covered.
With mergers, outsourcing and downsizing, sometimes even the hardest workers find themselves unemployed. If you suddenly find yourself out of work before your vacation, you may be eligible for a refund if you purchased travel insurance.
Extension of the school year
Sometimes it seems like the snow will never end, and same with the snow days. This can be fun for kids, but stressful for mom and dad. Don't worry about a vacation delay because the school your child attends extended its school year. You may be able to shift your travel plans to accommodate this change.
Vacation home is uninhabitable
If your vacation home becomes uninhabitable due to a flood, fire or other natural disaster, your travel insurance policy offers you great protection and reimbursement for your unforeseen loss.
What else could be covered?
There are several other things that may be included in your travel insurance benefits that many people don't even realize! Don't let the smaller issues that can plague a vacation become big problems. Our travel Insurance policies are designed to make sure these inconveniences don't ruin your hard-earned vacation.
Roadside Assistance (optional)
One great coverage our policy offers is 24-Hour Roadside Assistance. Nothing is more frustrating than being out of town and dealing with a vehicle emergency. With your travel insurance, this is just one less thing to worry about because our comprehensive coverage includes:
- Towing service
- Battery jump
- Minor roadside adjustments
- Vehicle Winching/Extraction (your vehicle will be winched if it is stuck in a ditch, mud or snow as long as it is accessible from a normally traveled roadway)
- Locksmith service
- Flat Tire Change
- Fuel delivery
Many policies can help you before you even arrive on Topsail Island.
Concierge services can help with scheduling golf tee times, making restaurant, airline and rental car reservations, and ticketing for entertainment and other special events.

How to I purchase coverage?
It's easy to purchase coverage!
To make it as easy as possible, coverage is already added to your cart when booking online or ask our reservationist for help when booking over the phone. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance, you must Opt Out on the reservation screen or decline coverage when booking with a reservationist over the phone.
How do we submit a claim?
Coming home after a Topsail Island vacation should leave you refreshed and relaxed. However, we all know that sometimes things happen that just can't be avoided. In the event you do need to file a claim, our partner strives to keep the claims process as hassle-free as possible. You'll have a dedicated claims representative working with you from start to finish. Just like the great responsive customer service you are used to with Ward Realty, the insurance side will ensure you'll receive the responsive, friendly service you deserve.
